Building Financial Clarity Through Spreadsheets

Real tools for real people managing their money

We started polaryntiva in early 2022 because spreadsheet-based finance shouldn't be mysterious. Most business owners and finance teams already work in Excel or Google Sheets daily. Why not use what you know instead of learning complex software that costs a fortune?

How We Got Here

Three years doesn't sound like much, but we've learned what actually works when teaching financial spreadsheet management. And honestly, we've learned what doesn't work too.

2022

Starting Small

Launched with twelve participants in Brisbane. We taught cash flow tracking using basic formulas. Nothing fancy — just practical sheets that people could actually use Monday morning.

2023

Expanding Topics

Added modules on budget forecasting and P&L management after hearing what people struggled with most. Started running workshops across Queensland and New South Wales.

2024

Refining Method

Completely rebuilt our curriculum based on feedback. Turns out people wanted shorter, focused sessions instead of full-day workshops. Who knew?

2025

Current Focus

Running monthly cohorts and developing specialized training for different industries. Each sector has unique financial tracking needs, so we're adapting our approach accordingly.

What Drives Our Teaching

We're not trying to revolutionize finance. We're just showing people how to use tools they already have sitting on their computer.

Keep It Practical

Every template we create gets tested by actual businesses first. If it doesn't work in the real world, we don't teach it. Simple as that.

Teach Fundamentals

Once you understand how financial formulas actually work, you can build whatever you need. We focus on giving you the foundation rather than memorizing specific solutions.

Support Ongoing

Questions come up weeks after training ends. That's normal. We maintain an email support line where past participants can get help when they're stuck on something specific.

Stay Accessible

Financial education shouldn't require a finance degree to understand. We explain concepts using everyday language and real business scenarios people recognize.

Our Teaching Philosophy

We've refined our approach based on hundreds of training sessions. Here's what actually helps people build useful financial tracking systems.

Start Where You Are

Some participants come in with zero spreadsheet experience. Others have been using Excel for years but never applied it to finance. We adjust the starting point based on who's in the room, not some predetermined curriculum.

Build With Your Data

Generic examples only go so far. We encourage participants to bring their actual business numbers to work with during sessions. That way, you leave with something you can implement immediately rather than theoretical knowledge.

Focus on Maintenance

Building a financial spreadsheet once isn't the challenge. Keeping it updated and useful over months is where most systems fall apart. We spend significant time on creating maintainable structures that don't become overwhelming.

Understand the Why

Copying formulas works until something breaks. We explain why each formula is structured the way it is, so you can troubleshoot issues yourself instead of feeling stuck when numbers don't match expectations.

Plan for Growth

Your business will change. Your tracking needs will change. We design spreadsheet structures that can adapt as you add new revenue streams, expand locations, or shift business models without requiring complete rebuilds.

Keep It Simple

Complicated spreadsheets with hundreds of tabs might look impressive, but they're rarely useful. We advocate for streamlined systems that track what matters without drowning you in unnecessary detail.

Who Teaches These Sessions

Our instructors come from actual finance and business backgrounds. They've built these systems for themselves before teaching others how to do it.

Larissa Kowalski

Lead Instructor

Spent eight years managing finances for a Sydney retail chain using custom spreadsheet systems. Started teaching workshops in 2022 after other business owners kept asking how she tracked everything so efficiently.

Declan Thornbury

Advanced Training Specialist

Former financial analyst who got tired of enterprise software bloat. Focuses on teaching complex forecasting and scenario modeling using spreadsheet tools that most people already have installed.

Priya Nagarajan

Support Coordinator

Handles post-training questions and helps participants troubleshoot specific issues in their implementations. Previously ran operations for a Melbourne logistics company using entirely spreadsheet-based tracking systems.

What You Can Expect

We're not going to promise that learning spreadsheet finance will transform your entire business overnight. That would be ridiculous. What we can tell you is that participants typically leave with functional tracking systems they actually use.

Most people see improvements in how quickly they can access financial information and make budget decisions. Whether that translates to better business outcomes depends on dozens of factors beyond just having good spreadsheets.

Our next cohort starts in August 2025. Sessions run monthly in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, with occasional workshops in other Australian cities based on demand.
